Wall Membrane - for battens

Size - Wall Membrane for battens - 7mm dimple height. Rolls are 2 metres wide x 20 metres long, but you can purchase any length.

Unique - we cut rolls and supply part boxes of plugs.

Complete Kits - supplied with all fixings, also available to suit any area of wall (or floor - no plugs required), made up with plugs, seals and tapes to suit your Project - we cut rolls, so there is no need for you to waste money by buying more Membrane than you need. Allow about 10% on top of the measured area for overlaps and joints.

Fitting - drill 10mm diameter holes, 76mm deep and blow or vacuum out all the dust. Bang in the plugs with seal washers fitted to the necks until they squeeze into the dimples. Fix wooden battens to the plugs using No.10 self tapping screws, allowing a maximum of 25mm of thread into the plug, plus the thickness of the batten. Allow about 4 to 5 plugs per square metre, equivalent to 4 to 6 per batten.

Measuring - if joints will be needed add 10% to the area measured. Joints can be made by overlapping 3 rows of dimples or by overlapping the plain edge of the membrane onto the flat face.

Wall and floor Membrane on a roll - 7mm.

Wall Membrane with battens in place. Ready to fit insulation between the battens, then nail or screw on plasterboard.

Plugs have moulded-in 'blind' holes for screws.

Easy to fit with vertical battens on normal walls, or with horizontal battens on curved walls or ceilings.

Floor Membranes - no fixings required

Standard Floor Membrane - 7mm

Size - 7mm dimple height. Rolls are 2 metres wide x 20 metres long, but you can purchase any length.

Fitting - roll out onto the floor and turn up at the walls to form a tray, with an upstand at least high enough to clear the flooring, to protect the edges from damp. Seal the corners and overlapping joints with Double Sided Tape or single sided Fibre Tape. Skirting boards hide the upstands.

Finishing - lay boarding such as plywood, chipboard, MDF or a sand and cement screed at least 50mm thick.

Slimline Floor Membrane - 3mm

Size - only 3mm dimple height. Rolls are 2 metres wide x 20 metres long, but you can purchase any length.

Unique - we cut rolls and supply part rolls of fibre tape.

Fitting - roll out onto the floor and turn up at the walls to form a tray, with an upstand at least high enough to clear the flooring. Seal the corners and butt joints with Fibre Tape. Skirting boards hide the upstands.

Measuring - if joints will be needed add 10% to the area measured. Joints in the 7mm Membrane can be made by overlapping 3 rows of dimples or by overlapping the plain edge of the membrane onto the flat face. Joints in the 3mm Slimline Membrane are made by butt jointing and applying single sided Fibre Tape.

Standard floor membrane - lay under boarding or screeds.

Slimline Membrane - Ideal covering for damp concrete floors, then add underlay and carpet.

Use Double Sided Tape for joining Standard Membrane (overlapping joints), Fibre Tape for joining Slimline Membrane (butt joints).

Easy to lay as a floor membrane, over damp concrete, slabs, slates or well compacted earth.

Standard Mesh Membrane

Size - Wall Mesh Membrane for plaster and plaster board - 7mm dimple height. Rolls are 2 metres wide x 10 metres long, but you can purchase any length.

Slimline Mesh Membrane

Size - Wall Mesh Membrane for plaster and plaster board - 3mm dimple height. Rolls are 1 or 2 metres wide x 30 metres long, but you can purchase any length.

Unique - we cut rolls and supply part boxes of plugs.

Complete Kits - supplied with all fixings, also available to suit any area of wall, made up with plugs, plug neck seal mastic rope and tapes to suit your Project - we cut rolls, so there is no need for you to waste money by buying more Membrane than you need. Allow about 10% on top of the measured area for overlaps and joints.

Fitting - drill 8mm diameter holes, 65mm deep and blow or vacuum out all the dust. Bang in the plugs with mastic rope around the necks until they squeeze into the dimples. Use 25 plugs per square metre if plastering direct to the Mesh Membrane, or 15 plugs per square metre if plasterboarding on adhesive dabs.

Finishing - plaster direct to the Mesh Membrane using Bonding Plaster or fit plasterboard. Optional - tape the plasterboard joints and plaster skim finish.

Special Note: the number of plugs that you need for fixing Mesh Membrane varies according to the intended use. This means that you have to be careful when pricing Kits - they may contain too few or too many plugs for your Project;

Direct plastering with Bonding Plaster - allow 25 plugs per square metre, 250mm centres

Fixing Plasterboard with 'dabs' of adhesive - allow 15 plugs per square metre, one for each dab.

Joints in the 7mm Membrane can be made by overlapping 3 rows of dimples or by overlapping the plain edge of the membrane onto the flat face. Mesh Membrane - 7mm thick - green plug

Mesh Membrane with optional top edging ventilation strip, which fixes to the wall at ceiling level.

Direct rendering onto Mesh Membrane with sand and cement is only rarely specified, usually for outdoor use. With render you will also require additional Mastic to fill the movement joints that have to be left at every vertical overlap.

Complete 7mm thick x 2 metre wide Mesh Kits for direct plastering - include membrane, joint tape (except in the 6 square metre kit), plugs (25 per sq.m.) & mastic rope seal..

Plugs and Seals for Wall Membranes with Battens - with moulded in 'blind' holes for screws

Size - 11mm diameter - use in a 10mm diameter hole x 75mm deep. Boxed in 100. Screw Size - No. 10 or No. 12 , which is equivalent to 4mm to 4.5mm diameter.

Unique - we supply part boxes of plugs.

Fitting - drill holes through the dimples in the Membrane 10mm diameter x 75mm deep. Blow or vacuum out all dust. Fit a neck seal washer to each plug and bang into the holes until the seal is squashed against the membrane.

Finishing - cut wooden battens about 25mm to 50mm wide x 25mm to 50mm thick. Drill a clearance hole through the wood to suit a No. 10 self tapping screw (4mm to 5mm diameter). Screw the battens to the plug heads. Fit insulation between the battens and then nail or screw plasterboard (or other board material) to the battens.

Membrane Rolls - without tapes, plugs and seals

Kontract Membrane - 7mm thick x 2 metres wide x 20 metres long = 40 square metres - no mesh, for floors and walls, walls using battens fixed to the plug heads.

Slimline Floorseal Membrane - 2mm thick x 2 metres wide x 20 metres long = 40 square metres - no mesh, for floors only, can be directly boarded or carpet laid onto underlay.

Plugs and Mastic Rope for Mesh Wall Membranes

Size - 9mm diameter - use in a 8mm diameter hole x 75mm deep. Boxed in 250..

Unique - we supply part boxes of plugs.

Fitting - drill holes through the dimples in the Mesh Membrane 8mm diameter x 75mm deep. Blow or vacuum out all dust. Fit 20mm of Mastic Rope as a neck seal washer to each plug and bang into the holes until the rope is squashed against the membrane.

Finishing - fix plasterboard with dabs of adhesive directly to the plug heads, or plaster over the mesh using a Bonding Plaster.

Joint Tape, Double Sided - sticky both sides

For overlap joining Wall and Floor Membranes, except Slimline versions

Size - 28mm wide x 22.5 metres long.

Fitting - Blow, brush or vacuum all dust from mating surfaces. Roll back the protective cover paper on one side and press the tape onto the membrane. Bring the other side of the membrane over the tape (allow a 50 to 75mm overlap) and then progressively peel back the protective cover paper as you press the two membranes together.

Fibre Tape, Single Sided - sticky one side

For butt joining Slimline Wall and Floor Membranes.

Size - 115mm wide x 25 metres long.

Fitting - Blow, brush or vacuum all dust from mating surfaces. Roll back the protective cover paper and press the tape onto the surfaces of both butted membranes.

Liquid Rubber Membrane - for sealing roofs, floors and walls

Technoseal Rubber Based Paint - use outdoors or indoors - one pack, no mixing, water based, no smell, water based.

Epoxy Seal Coat can be used to prepare old or new concrete or screeded floors for direct laying of wooden floors. It acts as a complete vapour barrier. Can be used to overcoat bitumen, tar and other paints - contains no water or solvent.

Membrane for below ground in newbuild and extensions

Tanking Applications - in new build for external installation against walls underground and up to the damp proof course level. The dimpled layer provides an air gap and the welded on textile provides a filtration layer.

Perfect for newbuild, extensions and changed ground levels where walls may be subject to up to a 10 metre depth of underground dampness. Walls to be protected are first coated with Technoseal, to provide two types of waterproofing, in order to conform with the latest Building Regulations.

Size - 2 metres wide x 20 metres long, made of 3 layers totaling 10mm in overall thickness.

Preparation - clean the wall thoroughly, re-point as necessary then apply two coats of Technoseal.

Fixing - top hang using Mesh Membrane Plugs at 200mm centres. Join using using overlaps and double sided Joint Tape.

Finishing - fit a top cover, called Geotex Profile Strip, along the top edge, at DPC level, to stop water from running down behind the membrane. Fix the Profile Strip using stainless steel screws in plastic wall plugs.

Shower Base Kit

Easy to lay as a complete shower, or as part of a wet room or bathroom shower over concrete or timber floors.

• Simply lay the panels and bond to the floor with the Waterproof Tiling Adhesive. Butt joints may be taped for reinforcement.

Size - 1 metre x 1 metre, inward sloping quarters. Allow Waterproof Tiling Adhesive at 3 litres per square metre, per side.

Drill Bits - SDS+ for plugs: use 8mm diameter for Mesh Membrane Plugs and 10mm diameter for Kontract Membrane Plugs. Always drill holes at least 15mm longer than the plug length, to allow for dust build up.

Drilling Template for Mesh Membrane - 15 and 25 plugs per square metre - paper template giving the correct hole spacing for Mesh Membrane for either 15 plugs (for plasterboard dabs) or 25 plugs (for direct plastering) per square metre.

Plumb Line - for setting out your sheets and battens, to keep them vertical to fit plasterboards.

Blow-out Pump - a small hand pump with an extension tube used to blow the dust out of the plug holes. Prevents plug breakages caused by bottoming out in the hole dust.

Chemical Treatments to use with Membranes

Damp Proofing Cream - to insert a new damp proof course at the correct level.

Damp Proofing Drilling Template - paper template giving the correct hole and level spacing for damp proof course injection.

Flexible Crack Filler - for sealing wall and floor holes, cracks and the floor to wall joint that could all be weaknesses behind your membrane.

Leak Stop Powder, Hydraplug - for virtually instant water leak stoppage. Just mix with minimum water and hold until warm. Then ram in to the crack or hole, pare off the excess with a scraper.

Salt Neutralizer - to treat all floors and walls before fixing membranes, to prevent limescale build up behind the membrane where 'active' water movement is taking place.

Dry Rot Paint - to paint selectively on walls and floors as a Dry Rot prevention zone. A low odour Emulsion Paint, easy to apply and quick drying.

Damp Proofing Cream using a 400cc skeleton gun.
